Thanks for the post!

I searched the web looking to see if green smoothies could potentially spike blood sugar enough to cause fat storage. Unbeknownst to me would I stumble upon the GI and GL tables for my answer.

Usually, both an apple and an orange fill my blender everyday as the base of my smoothies. Sometimes I'll throw in a lemon, lime, or other fruit as well. It's when this third fruit is added I become concerned about too much sugar. But, you've quashed my worries with the informative write-up!

@ Ann Borden. On the bottom left corner of the Health Master there is a reset button. Plug the blender in, hold in the button for about 5-10 seconds. The blender should start working again.

After reading reviews on the new Healthmaster Elite. It seems that the manufacturer has addressed all of the previous issues with the first Healthmaster that was released. I agree with a previous reviewer-not everyone can afford $400-$500 emulsifiers/green machines. Another reviewer mentioned hers was purchased last year which would mean that was before the machine was improved. If it quit working...that is usually a motor issue and the Healthmaster motor from day one has had a lifetime guarantee. Customer Service needs to be called and the blender returned so a replacement can be sent asap. Overall, I am completely satisfied with my Healthmaster and I have put it through it's paces...consistent-daily-heavy use and have not had any problems. I think it just boils down to what you personally prefer and your budget. I give Kudos to Montel for signing on to try and direct people out of a dietary dead end and into a better nutritional state that could save them countless health issues in the long run.

When you are preparing food for guests, you should be wearing rubber gloves when handling raw food.
I am a big veggie/fruit eater. Washing hands - is not enough when preparing for others!

My boyfriend recently started chemotherapy and is looking really thin and has little appetite for things we normally eat so I came up with a recipe to help give him some good fats and protein so he would not end up starving! I have also started drinking these even though I am trying to lose weight. These smoothies leave me totally full and completely satisfy my serious sugar addiction. These taste soooo good! They would be great for kids too.

1 cup unsweetened coconut milk
1 or 2 bananas
1/2 cup raw oats
2 scoops vanilla protein powder
2-4 scoops almond butter

(These measurements vary depending on whether I'm making for one or two of us and how much I've already eaten if later in the day.)

You have quite a few green smoothies for kids what about adults? I have heard adding sweet
fruits like pineapple and mango is not good for people who have diabetes so what do they do?

Not enough people in raw food business address this problem yet it is a serious problem,
we want eat healthy also but not rise or lower our blood sugar abnormally.

If you know of any way to make green smoothies taste better without having to add to many sweet fruits may be one. Thank You I will keep looking for better health, anti aging smoothies.
